Bollywood celebrities and politicians joined together for a Twenty20 tournament on Saturday as part of the ‘TB Mukt Bharat’ campaign to promote awareness about tuberculosis (TB) in India. Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher offered fans a preview of the unique cricket match.
Actor Suniel Shetty’s Abhineta XI beat BJP MP Anurag Thakur’s Neta XI by a margin of two wickets.
Kher, who was actively involved in the game, posted a video of himself taking a wicket on Instagram. The actor bowls an off-spin ball in the video, and the batsman tries to smash it for a boundary but is caught out.

After the game, Shetty spoke on how politicians were formerly thought of as people who “wore only kurtas and used their brains.” In today’s “new India,” nevertheless, they are not just bright academically but also physically fit.
“TB was beaten by Abhineta and Neta playing together… Politicians used to be thought of as people who just utilized their wits while wearing kurtas and pajamas, but today look at how fit they are—the game demands physical fitness. With fresh politicians, India has changed. The actor told ANI, “MPs are athletes, and the message that should be sent out from here is that TB has been defeated.”
Regarding performing, Kher most recently starred in Vijay 69. The YRF Entertainment movie, which was directed by Akshay Roy, was made available on Netflix on November 8 of last year.
