He created history with his acting but his sons film journey ended very soon. Did you recognize him?
Well most of you must have seen this actor in the 90s. He is none other than Shadaab Khan son of veteran actor Amjad Khan who became immortal by playing the character of Gabbar Singh in Hindi cinema. On September 20 1973 Shadaab followed in his fathers footsteps and entered the industry but could not make the identity that his father made. Shadaab entered the world of production and acting after completing his studies.
Shadaab started his career with film editing and worked with many big film editors. Shadaab started his acting career in 1997 with the film Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat in which he played the lead role with Rani Mukherjee. However this film flopped at the box office. After this he worked in films like Betaabi (1997) Hey Ram (2000) Refugee (2000) and Bharat Bhagya Vidhata (2002) but all flopped at the box office.
He worked in the industry for about 5 years and acted in a total of 6 films but never earned the recognition for which he had entered the industry following in his fathers footsteps. Shadaab married Malaika Saqlain in 2023 the daughter of former Pakistani cricketer and coach Saqlain Mushtaq. Shadaab and Malaika have a child. Shadaabs total net worth is around $1.5 million (about ₹12 crores). He earns from films brand endorsements and other ventures.
Shadaab had revealed in an old interview that he did not want to debut with Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat. Shadaab Khan tried his hand at direction and writing after leaving the film industry. He directed films like Delhi 47 KM (2018) and Rabiya and Olivia (2019). Currently he is active in filmmaking and writing and is working on new projects. His story is an inspiration of how one can achieve success in different fields in his career.
