The start of the IPL 2025 season has been very surprising. In the first match, where defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders suffered defeat, Sunrisers Hyderabad gave 286 runs in the next match. Now something happened in the fourth match of the season, which hardly anyone expected. Lucknow Super Giants, considered to be the weakest team of this season, blew the senses of Delhi Capitals in their first match. Lucknow first scored 209 runs with Dhundhar batting and then returned the pavilion to half the team from Delhi inside just 40 balls.

Both these teams were face to face in the fourth match of this season on Monday 24 March in Visakhapatnam. The eyes were on Rishabh Pant, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants and the most expensive player of the league, but the remaining players scattered. Pant was dismissed at 0 after playing 6 balls, but Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Puran played explosive innings and brought the team to 200 runs.

Shardul showed everyone a mirror in one over

But still according to Lucknow, this goal did not look much big because many of his bowlers were already injured. Mayank Yadav has not been able to return yet due to injury. At the same time, Avesh Khan and Akash Deep are also out for the first 3 matches due to injury. Lucknow got the biggest shock in the form of Mohsin Khan, who was out of the entire season due to injury. In such a situation, Lucknow chose the player who was rejected by every team in the mega auction.

Lucknow signed Indian all -rounder Shardul Thakur to replace Mohsin and his decision proved to be correct. Shardul, the most experienced bowler of the Lucknow team, returned the pavilion to two Delhi batsmen in the first over itself. At first he dismissed Jake Fraser McGark and then on the last ball of the over, he also got the wicket of Abhishek Porel.

Half of the team killed in just 40 balls

After these two shaking in the first over, Delhi's innings stumbled and then half the team returned to the pavilion. In just 40 balls of the innings, Delhi lost 5 wickets and in addition to Shardul, young spinners Manimaran Siddharth and Digvesh Rathi played a big role in it. Both these new bowlers took one wicket each, while veteran spinner Ravi Bishnoi also achieved a success and pushed Delhi to the back foot.
