Raina expressed regret in his statement for the events of India’s Got Latent episode. According to reports, he said, “I feel deep regret for what I said. It happened in the flow of the show, and I had no intention of saying it. I realise that what I said was wrong.”
For context, the controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent escalated following an episode in which Ranveer Allahbadia made a controversial joke that didn’t resonate well with viewers. A formal complaint has since been filed with the Mumbai Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission against Ranveer, Samay, Apoorva Mukhija, and the show’s organizers, citing abusive language and inappropriate remarks made towards women to gain popularity and financial gain.
Samay later pulled down the episodes of India’s Got Latent soon after the controversy erupted. On X, he wrote, “Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”
India’s Got Latent drew extreme criticism for its ‘obscene’ content when Ranveer Allahbadia made an unsavoury remark in a recent episode. Multiple FIRs and cases were lodged against the judges and panellists.
Ranveer also issued a public apology via video, while Samay deleted all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube.
