Dimple Kapadia was just 16 when she said yes to marriage with superstar Rajesh Khanna. Their wedding took place in 1973 and the actress took a break from films after getting married. However the star couples marriage was short-lived. They announced their separation in 1982 but never  got divorced officially. There were rumours that Rajesh Khanna was the reason behind Dimple Kapadias withdrawl from films. While speaking to India Today before the release of Saagar Dimple shared I came to know him well precisely seven days before the marriage. We were going together to Ahmedabad for some kind of a show on a chartered flight. He sat next to me all along but did not utter a word. Just as the flight was about to land he turned towards me looked hard into my eyes and said he wanted me to marry him. The life and happiness in our house came to an end the day I and Rajesh got married. Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia have two daughters- Twinkle Khanna who was born in 1974 and Rinkie Khanna who was born in 1977. Rajesh Khanna passed way on 18 July 2012 at his bungalow Aashirwad. According to reports his health was deteriorating since July 2011 as he was diagnosed with cancer.
