By providing transportation for pilgrims during the 45-day Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela from January 13 to February 26, the Orai Roadways Depot made almost Rs 3.09 million. Buses operated by the depot carried almost two lakh people to Prayagraj from different areas of the district.

During the Mahakumbh period, which ran from January 13 to February 27, 65 saffron-colored buses traveled nonstop, day and night, to guarantee a seamless pilgrimage.

As early as January 11, these buses, which had been thoroughly outfitted and prepped beforehand, began operating. To ensure smooth travel, transportation preparations were expanded from district headquarters to the tehsil and block levels.

Many devotees chose road transportation because of the congestion in Kumbh special trains, which benefited from the depot’s efficient operations. No passenger experienced any difficulty because of the prompt departures and the committed service provided by the conductors, drivers, and depot employees.

The Orai depot alone increased its yearly profits from Mahakumbh Mela activities by Rs 3,09,28,168 as a consequence of these initiatives. According to Assistant Regional Officer Kamal Kishore Arya, the depot’s revenue increased by more than Rs 3 crore as a result of the special Kumbh bus services.
