In an electrifying match on Monday between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi triumphed over Lucknow by a thrilling one-wicket victory. And the real hero? None other than the explosive Ashutosh Sharma, who played a match-winning knock of 61* off just 31 balls, blasting 5 fours and 5 sixes. His fiery performance not only sealed the win for Delhi but also earned him the prestigious Player of the Match award. Watch a video for more details.

Ashutosh Sharma is a name that needs no introduction. Hailing from the heart of Madhya Pradesh, Ratlam, he began his domestic cricket journey back in 2018 with Madhya Pradesh. However, it was in 2024 that this right-handed batter made a bold switch to playing T20 cricket for Railways, catching the eyes of scouts. His raw talent didn’t go unnoticed, and Punjab Kings secured him for 20 lakhs. But it was IPL 2024 where Ashutosh truly set the stage on fire. With his incredible finishing abilities, he scored 189 runs in 9 matches, at a scorching strike rate of 167.

In the 2025 IPL, the Delhi Capitals saw his potential and snapped him up for a hefty 3.8 crore rupees. In his very first match for Delhi, Ashutosh was brought in as the impact player, and he immediately turned the game on its head, leading his team to a sensational win against Lucknow.

It’s also worth noting that Ashutosh Sharma isn’t just about the runs; his record is phenomenal. With 838 runs in 32 T20 matches at a blistering strike rate of 185 and an average of 36, including 8 half-centuries, he’s quickly become a force to be reckoned with. Oh, and did we mention he holds the record for the fastest half-century in T20 cricket? He smashed 50 runs in just 11 balls against Arunachal Pradesh in 2023 — a record that’s as breathtaking as his batting!
