To encourage women to invest and become financially independent, the national government introduced the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate Scheme. The program will be accessible at all post offices in the Bhojpur district of Bihar as of April 1.
The program, which was created especially to provide women financial power, permits investments for a two-year period at a quarterly compound interest rate of 8%. If necessary, women may take out up to 40% of the money they put. The initiative is open till March 31, 2025, and the maximum investment amount is Rs 2 lakh.
Post office investments are becoming more appealing, especially for rural women, girls, farmers, craftsmen, older people, industrial workers, government employees, and small merchants, as a result of the government raising interest rates on other modest savings plans.
Women now have a safe and profitable way to save money thanks to the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate Scheme. All women and girls are eligible for the program, and guardians may apply on behalf of young girls.
In order to create an account, candidates need to provide:
-Account opening form
-KYC papers (PAN card and Aadhaar)
-KYC form for new users of accounts
-The deposit amount and pay-in slip (or check)
It is anticipated that this program will increase financial inclusion and motivate more women to engage in structured savings, opening the door to increased financial independence and stability.
