BCCI Announces Women's Central Contracts Amid IPL 2025: 16 Players Selected

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the central contract list for the Indian women's team for the 2024-25 season. The board has categorized 16 players into three grades—A, B, and C. Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Deepti Sharma have been placed in Grade A, while Grade B features four players, including Shafali Verma. Nine players have been assigned to Grade C.

BCCI also confirmed that the central contract list for the men's team will be announced soon.

Women's Central Contract List 2024-25

Grade A: Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma
Grade B: Renuka Singh, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh, Shafali Verma
Grade C: Yastika Bhatia, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil, Titas Sadhu, Arundhati Reddy, Amanjot Kaur, Uma Chhetri, Sneha Rana, Pooja Vastrakar

Salary Structure in BCCI Central Contracts

  • Grade A: ₹50 lakh annually

  • Grade B: ₹30 lakh annually

  • Grade C: ₹10 lakh annually

In 2022, BCCI introduced equal match fees for male and female players, but differences remain in annual retainers. The men's central contract has four categories, while the women's has three. Notably, even Grade C male cricketers receive a higher annual contract than Grade A female players.

For comparison, male cricketers receive the following retainers:

  • Grade A+: ₹7 crore per year

  • Grade A: ₹5 crore per year

  • Grade B: ₹3 crore per year

  • Grade C: ₹1 crore per year
