An FIR has been lodged against stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra in Thane district of Maharashtra to allegedly defame Shiv Sena chief and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The police shared this information. A complaint was lodged by a Shiv Sena official at Dombivali police station on Monday. A defamation case has been registered under Section 356 (2) of the Indian Code. It said that Shiv Sena officials opened a link on social media which had a derogatory video clip against Shinde. It is known that Kamra targeted Shinde during his show in a studio in a hotel basement in Mumbai and raised a controversy with his traitor's sarcasm which is in the context of the partition of Shiv Sena in 2022. In this case, Kunal's lawyer has sought time from the police.
Shiv Sena activists reacted violently due to Kamra's comment on Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and singing Parodi and also vandalized his studio on Sunday. The Mumbai Police had registered a case against the comedian on the complaint of the Shiv Sena MLA for allegedly making derogatory remarks. In addition, he was issued a notice to appear personally. Apart from this, the police registered a case against 40 Shiv Sena workers for vandalizing Habitat Studios in Khar area. On Monday, 12 activists were arrested in this case. But the local court also granted bail to everyone on the same day.

After the FIR was registered in the Eknath Shinde case, Kunal's lawyer has spoken to the police and asked for 7 days. Kunal was called by the police to record his statement in this case but could not reach Kunal. At present, Kunal's lawyer requested the police to give time and the police will take further action after taking legal advice. Meanwhile, Kunal has shared another parody in protest against Shiv Sena on Tuesday. It is on the lines of the song Hum Hoga Kamiab and in this, Kunal has taunted the politicians while talking about the current situation of the country.
