Foodies have been left reeling after discovering the contents of 's pricey , with some branding it a "Half English".

The celebrity chef's take on the classic morning dish, served at The River Restaurant by Gordon Ramsay at the five-star Savoy Hotel in central , features a sausage, streaky bacon, tomato, mushroom, black pudding and eggs - all for a hefty £24.

However, fans have been left scratching their heads over the absence of staples like beans, hash browns, fried bread and toast, with some also questioning the use of American-style bacon. While beans are included with the main meal, hash browns and toast come at an extra cost of £4 and £4.50 respectively.

To add insult to injury, a cup of tea or coffee will set you back £6.50, while an orange juice costs £5.50.

Members of the public were left fuming by the size of the dish. It comes after a video clip of the breakfast was shared on Instagram recently. said: "Start your Sunday with a tasty full English at the beautiful @riverrestaurantbygordonramsay."

It showed two fried eggs being served on the plate, as well as two streaks of bacon, black pudding, one sausage and a grilled tomato. People rushed to comment, with one saying: "Half English at best." Another added: "Come on chef, that's not a Full English."

Many did not hesitate to point out their expectations for the beloved dish, with one commenter noting: "No hash browns, no beans. And the bacon doesn't look English."

Others weren't shy in expressing their disappointment, with sharp observations like: "This is the saddest looking fry up I've ever seen," and: "It's the American stuff that if dropped it'd shatter like a glass mirror."

Another said: "Full? Is there a second plate coming with the rest of it?" While another noted: "Where's the beans? Hash browns? Toast or fried bread?" In a humorous dig, a commentator jestingly said: "That bacon is so hard it just offered me out for a fight in the car park."

Agreement was found with a grim comparison, with another adding: "That bacon looks harder than my life." On a brighter note, there were those who praised the arrangement, as someone else wrote: "Plated beautifully."

Compliments followed with remarks like: "Beautiful presentation", and an enthusiastic fan adding: "Oh yes please! Invite please."

The River Restaurant has been asked to comment about the breakfast.
