The School Education Department of the Chhattisgarh Government has permitted the recruitment of special teachers in the state, which will provide a great opportunity for the youth willing to work for special children in the field of education. Out of the 884 posts approved by the government, the recruitment process will be started for 100 posts at present. In this regard, the Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) has issued an official notification.
This recruitment is being done as per the order of the Supreme Court so that the appointment of special educators can be ensured in various schools of the state. This will provide better education and guidance to disabled children so that they can join the mainstream of society.
Who can apply?
Candidates wishing to become special teachers must have a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
1) For Primary Teacher (Class 1 to 5)
RCI recognized D.Ed. Special Education or equivalent course
Mandatory registration in RCI
2) Upper Primary Teacher (Class 6 to 8)
RCI recognized B.Ed. Special Education or equivalent course
Mandatory registration in RCI
3) Secondary Teacher (Class 9 to 12)
Master's degree (English, Hindi, History, Political Science, Sociology, or Music) with 50% marks from a recognized university
B.Ed. Special Education or equivalent course
Age limit
The minimum age for recruitment of special teachers in Chhattisgarh has been fixed at 21 years and the maximum at 35 years, in which reserved categories will get relaxed as per rules.
