Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama is an animated film which was jointly produced by Japan and India. This film was released in 1992. The film was jointly directed by Koichi Sasaki Ram Mohan and Yugo Sako. Apart from Koichi Sasaki Ram Mohan and Yugo Sako Narendra Sharma Rani Burra and Hiroshi Onogi also contributed significantly to writing their screenplay. Some reports also suggest that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad had received a complaint of tampering with facts in Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama. After this they wrote a protest letter to the Japanese Embassy in Delhi and said that no foreigner could justify the Ramayana as it is a great symbol of Indian culture.
