Films are narratives that travel boundaries. Several regional films have been remade into Bollywood versions. There are movies who echo similarities with other releases or movies from Hollywood too. This one film made in 2014 was a script that underwent multiple changes. Not once not twice but more the second half of the movie was not satisfactory in compliance with the ambition of the filmmakers. Nonetheless this Bollywood became an instant hit. The movie in PK. A Rajkumar Hirani directorial the movie featured Aamir Khan Anushka Sharma Boman Irani Sushant Singh Rajput among others. The Film Was Similar to Inception Recently Aamir Khan revealed that the script was re-written multiple times. During the making of PK Christopher Nolans Inception was released. This made the actor and director question their script as they found certain similarities in theme. In a podcast with Just Too Filmy he shared Raju and me weren’t happy with the final resolution of PK. In fact he had thought of something else altogether. But then Nolan’s Inception hit the screens” said Aamir who revealed that the initial idea for the climactic portions of PK was a play on altering perceptions by going back in the past. “We wanted to explore the idea about how we could change anything what we think we feel strongly about. But then Inception released and Raju was convinced that people would say he stole the idea from the Nolan film. Dangal actor also given the moniker of Mr Perfectionist did not find the perfection he had envision for this project. And neither did his director. Explaining it further he said We spoke and we discussed before the release that ‘Raju we haven’t been able to make the film we wanted’. I wasn’t fully happy and he wasn’t either. We weren’t fully happy with the film but this was the best version we could think of. But people connected with the film and they liked it... This was not for them though. It normal for the script to undergo revisions. But it did not end with Inception. During the same time Akshay Kumars release created a stir that also became a roadblock for PK. Akshay Kumars Oh My God had hit the theatres and bearing a similar theme the director was quick to release how some of the punches also matched. It would be no new experience for the audience. There were a few similarities with OMG too. There were similarities because both films dealt with the same theme. But Raju was steadfast that certain portions had to be rewritten to avoid any comparisons with OMG said Khan. PK became a blockbuster after it earned about Rs 770 crores at the box office. It was critically acclaimed and won several accolades as well.
