IPL 2025: Quinton de Kock anchors KKR's run-chase against RR

South African batter Quinton de Kock played a memorable knock for Kolkata Knight Riders against Rajasthan Royals in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter.

De Kock single-handedly took charge of KKR's run-chase at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.

The 32-year-old slammed an unbeaten 97 as the Knight Riders chased down 152 in 17.3 overs.

A seasoned campaigner, de Kock had been a mainstay batter for Delhi Capitals (DC), Mumbai Indians (MI), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

The Knight Riders bought him for ₹3.6 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

He has also played a season each for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

De Kock, who made his IPL debut in 2013, has now featured in 109 matches.

The explosive left-handed batter has racked up 3,258 runs at an average of 31.94. His tally includes 26 fifty-plus scores (two tons).

QDK has a strike-rate of 134.73, while his tally includes 325 fours and 129 sixes.

His best season came with champions MI in 2019 (529 runs).

De Kock duly bounced back after faltering in the IPL 2025 opener against RCB. He fell for a 5-ball 4 early on at Eden Gardens. The Knight Riders later lost the match by seven wickets.

As per Cricbuzz, de Kock now has 128 runs off just 60 balls against Archer in T20 cricket. Despite being dismissed thrice, the former has a strike-rate of 213.33 in this battle.


Highest individual score for KKR in run-chases

According to Cricbuzz, de Kock now has the highest individual score for KKR in run-chases in the IPL. He went past Manish Pandey, who scored a match-winning 94 against Punjab Kings in the 2014 IPL final in Bengaluru.
