The s moving antique series returned to screens with an all-new episode. In it, people brought their treasured items to the workshop to be restored. Among the guests from across the UK was TV presenter Ian Lawman, who is best known for fronting hit reality shows Most Haunted, I'm Famous and Frightened, and Living With the Dead.

He arrived with his late sister Denise's treasured doll, which was estimated to be around 100 years old. Ian explained that she was gifted the toy as a youngster and that it previously belonged to their aunt. However, after re-discovering the damaged doll in an attic, the usually stern star fought back tears as he recounted his final encounter with Denise.

Speaking to experts Julie Tatchell and Amanda Middleditch, Ian revealed his sister was "months old" when she received the doll and added: "My sister had learning difficulties; she was loving, caring, an amazing sister. She was generous and kind."

The presenter was emotional as he shared: "Unfortunately, my sister died in a road traffic accident at the age of 24."

Ian took a deep breathe and continued: "Sadly, two days prior, we had a bit of an argument, we never argued, never made up and two days later she was tragically killed.

"The doll stayed in the bedroom for a few years after, then my parents decided to put it in the loft and I've just discovered it."

Later in the episode, Ian returned to the workshop with his wife Julie and was touched to see the doll restored close to its original design, with hair, fingers similar clothes and back with its walking function.

After admitting he was "nervous" to see the doll, the Most Haunted star was astounded and speechless as his wife remarked: "That's amazing."

Ian pointed out: "She's got hair, she's got a dress, very similar to what I remember, she's got fingers and she's stood upright. It's absolutely amazing."

He later told the cameras: "The doll symbolises closure for me. My sister and I had a horrific argument before she passed and I never had the chance to apologise, so that's been eating away at me. But now the doll's repaired I just feel that, that chapter's closed and I can move on."

Viewers were also moved by the episode as one remarked: "How lovely to see another side of Ian Lawman on #therepairshop," as another echoed: "#Therepairshop is emotional the Doll ladies did a brilliant job."
