Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will play a second successive home game as they host Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) who will be on the road once again. Both teams won their opening fixtures and will be keen to make it two out of two in the ongoing .

CSK had a topsy-turvy encounter in their season-opener game against MI. Noor Ahmad's 4-wicket haul in the middle overs complemented Khaleel Ahmed's powerplay strikes, and CSK looked to have the match in a stranglehold. However, MI's Deepak Chahar made a splash with the bat in the death overs to ensure his side had something to bowl at.

Ruturaj Gaikwad then took the contest by the sword and decided to put a swift end to things. By the time he was done, CSK had the contest by the scruff of the neck. But, senior cricket debutant Vignesh Puthur provided a three-wicket burst that held CSK back. Rachin Ravindra eventually weathered the storm and led CSK home in the last over.

RCB defeated defending champions KKR in the opening game of the season. KKR got off to a flier powered by Ajinkya Rahane and later supported by Sunil Narine. then put the brakes on the home side and it went downhill from there. KKR finished with a below par total that Phil Salt and Virat Kohli went after in the powerplay.

After both the RCB openers completed their fifties, skipper Rajat Patidar put a swift end to things with a quick-fire cameo supported by Liam Livingstone.
