During this period Jaya Bachchan, Aishwarya’s mother in law acknowledged their warm relationship.

In an interview Jaya described Aishwarya not just as her daughter in law but also as a friend.

In another conversation Jaya spoke about veteran actress Rekha stating that they share a great bond.

She emphasized her straightforward nature saying “If I don’t like something, I tell her directly.

I don’t engage in backhanded politics. If she disagrees with me she expresses her opinion openly. The only difference between us is that I tend to be more emotional while she maintains a level of grace and respect.

After all I am older and that naturally brings a certain difference.

Jaya also shared how she and Aishwarya spend their time together. She acknowledged that Aishwarya has a packed schedule but mentioned that whenever she is free they sit down at home and engage in casual conversations.

Jaya Bachchan’s perspective on the daughter-in-law relationship

When asked whether she is strict with Aishwarya, Jaya responded humorously during an interview with fashion designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.

She said “Aishwarya is not my daughter she is my daughter in law.

Why would I be strict with her? I am sure her mother has already done that. There is a difference between a daughter and a daughter in law.

I don’t know why but daughters tend to take their parents for granted whereas daughters in law treat their in laws with a different level of respect.

She elaborated explaining that as a daughter one often assumes that parents will always be there but in a marital home the dynamic changes leading to more conscious efforts to maintain relationships.

Jaya Bachchan’s admiration for Aishwarya

Jaya Bachchan has always spoken highly of Aishwarya often praising her grace and strength.

In an appearance on Koffee with Karan she reflected on Aishwarya’s role in the Bachchan family.

She shared that when her daughter Shweta got married Amitabh Bachchan felt a void in his life. However Aishwarya’s presence helped fill that gap.

“When Amit ji sees Aishwarya it feels like Shweta has come home. His eyes light up. Aishwarya has filled that space left by Shweta’s departure.

Even today we struggle to accept that Shweta is no longer a part of the Bachchan household. It’s a difficult reality she confessed.

Jaya’s candid and heartfelt words highlight the deep emotional bonds within the Bachchan family revealing the special place Aishwarya holds in their lives.
