has been given the green light by the Tennis Channel to employ their TV commentator Mark Petchey as her part-time coach at this summer.

The British No.2 pledged to "re-evaluate" and come up with a new plan after reaching the quarter-finals of the Miami Open without an official coach.

Her winning streak came to an end when she needed a medical timeout before . But her best event since her 2021 US Open triumph will see her return to the world's top 50 for the first time since September 2022.

Her latest ex-coach Vlado Platenik claimed he could have taken Raducanu's back into the world's top 20 after only two weeks working together.

And now the 22-year-old - who had her former coach Petchey in her Miami entourage - now faces a decision over her next coaching move after sacking the Slovak before the tournament.

But the US-based Tennis Channel has had no issue with analysts such as Lindsay Davenport and Paul Annacone working with players in the past. And it is understood it will be the same if Petchey, who also worked with Andy Murray, continues to help out Raducanu during the clay and grasscourt seasons.

Raducanu said: "Despite losing today (against Pegula) I can take some good positives from this week and look forward.

"I think I just need to take a beat and kind of reevaluate what I'm doing. This week it was good but I need to kind of just figure things out and then I'll make a plan from there."

The Bromley-based star, who also had her mentor Jane O'Donoghue in Miami, has admitted how she likes familiar faces in her team.

"Feeling just happy, relaxed on and off the court has been the biggest thing that I can take away and be happy about," she said. "I think just being able to switch off and have fun with them and play Spikeball before the match, and we just create certain routines. Yeah, they bring small doses of happiness that I guess just keep you going."

Raducanu's defeat to Pegula saw her take a medical timeout - she had her blood pressure and pulse checked - in the 70% humidity in Miami.

"I just felt really dizzy, I felt a bit faint," she explained. "It was very humid out there, of course, and we had a long wait (to start the match). Maybe an accumulation of physical points as well, there were long rallies and heavy conditions. I'm proud of myself. It wasn't easy to get here. I played some really good tennis and it was nice to have that feeling of playing pretty well again. That's kind of been missing and also just the fighting and the competitive spirit, I think that something I drew out of myself this week."

She will next play for Great Britain in the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers in the Netherlands next month before the WTA 250 Open de Rouen instead of the WTA 500 Porsche Open. She has played in Germany in the previous three years.
