How Thakur entered LSG setup
Fact

It is worth noting that Thakur went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction. He entered the LSG roster as a replacement for the injured Mohsin Khan. He was a part of CSK in IPL 2024 but was released ahead of the mega-auction.

LSG beat SRH by five wickets
Chase

LSG lost Aiden Markram quite early in the run-chase. However, his dismissal didn't affect them much, as the Nicholas Pooran show followed.

He added a century-plus stand with Mitchell Marsh. While Marsh played second fiddle, Pooran steered the Orange Army past 100 in just 7.3 overs.

Although LSG lost Pooran, Marsh, and then Rishabh Pant, David Miller and Abdul Samad got them home.

Our Player of the Day
PoM

Although Pooran and Marsh slammed blistering half-centuries, it was Thakur's four-wicket haul that laid the foundation of LSG's win.

The latter defied the narratives of SRH touching the 300-run mark on Hyderabad's batting-friendly wicket.

Thakur's impact was noteworthy as he difused the dangerous Abhishek and Ishan. The latter was coming off an incredible ton.

Therefore, Thakur is our Player of the Day.
