Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant decided to bowl first by winning the toss against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 7th match of IPL 2025. Pant's decision was quite shocking for the fans as Hyderabad has a very strong batting lineup. It was expected that LSG would like to set a big score by batting first, but Pant's thinking was different.
Rishabh Pant said after the toss,
“We will bowl first. We have to dismiss them quickly and then chase the target.”
“We have a good batting lineup, which can chase any goal.”
“It depends on the combination of our team, so we have decided to bowl first.”
Pant's decision made it clear that LSG has full confidence in his ability to chase.
In this match, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) made an important change. The team excluded Shahbaz Ahmed and included Avesh Khan in the playing XI, making his pace battery stronger.
At the same time, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins did not make any changes in his team and landed with the same 11 players, on which he scored a big score of 286 runs against Rajasthan Royals.
Rishabh Pant's decision to bowl first is seen going in favor of the team.
Shardul Thakur made a tremendous start by dismissing both SRH openers-Abhishek Sharma and Ishaan Kishan on back-to-back balls.
The fast bowlers are getting help from the pitch, and LSG would like to take full advantage of the opportunity.
Now it has to be seen whether LSG will be able to prove its strategy right or will SRH's batting lineup show power?
