CBSE Board has given a big blow to the 12th students studying in 'dummy schools'. Now such students will not be allowed to appear in the 12th board examination. According to media reports, a CBSE official said that 12th students studying in 'dummy schools' cannot be allowed to appear in the board examination.
CBSE conducted several surprise inspections in 29 schools in Delhi, Bengaluru, Varanasi, Bihar, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh in December last year to check the enrollment of 'dummy' students. After this, taking action on them, the Central Board of Secondary Education issued show-cause notices to 27 schools in Delhi and Rajasthan regarding dummy admission.
What are dummy schools?
Many students preparing for engineering and medical entrance examinations prefer to take admission to dummy schools so that they can focus only on preparing for competitive examinations. They do not go to class and directly sit for the board examination. Class attendance is not necessary for such students.
It is necessary to fulfill the condition of minimum attendance.
Just last month, the Ministry of Education made it clear that action is being taken against schools taking dummy admissions, which will continue in the future as well. CBSE says that it is necessary to come to school regularly for board exams and fulfill the condition of minimum attendance.
According to the Ministry of Education, from time to time, necessary guidelines are given to schools to follow the rules related to attendance and at the same time the data of the schools is also analyzed and if any abnormality is found in the data of any school, then a show cause notice is issued to it. Then the school is inspected by the CBSE team, based on which strict action is taken.
Dummy admission is a big problem in the country. It is seen that from class 9th itself, students start going to coaching centers to prepare for engineering and medicine instead of going to schools. CBSE has started taking strict steps to overcome this problem.
