Bihar Engineering University (BEU) has taken a big decision and made the affidavit mandatory in all the engineering colleges of the state. Now students will have to fill an undertaking i.e. affidavit to take admission in the next semester.

In this, the students will have to declare that if their CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is less than 5, then they will be stopped in the previous semester itself.

Why was this rule implemented?

The main reason for implementing this rule is to reduce the negligence of the students and improve the level of education. Recently it was seen that many students reached the next semester even without getting the prescribed CGPA, which affected their studies. Especially in the fourth and seventh semesters, some students filled out the examination forms despite having low CGPA.

After this, when the university stopped their admit cards, the students protested. This strict rule has been implemented to end this controversy and avoid such a situation in the future.

While filling out the affidavit, the student will have to give his name, parents' name, name of the college and course, roll number, registration number, and the semester in which he is taking admission. Along with this, he will have to accept that if his CGPA is less than 5, he will not be able to take admission in the next semester.

If a student's overall CGPA is less than 5, he will have to remain in the previous semester. The student will get an opportunity to improve their grade by paying more attention to his studies. Only after increasing the CGPA will he be able to take admission in the next semester.
