Earlier, CBSE i.e. Central Board of Secondary Education had announced to conduct board examinations twice a year. Now on the lines of CBSE, the Madhya Pradesh Board will also conduct examinations twice a year. For this, the state government has proposed changes in the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education Regulations, 1965.

The board sought suggestions.

The Madhya Pradesh Board has released a draft of this change in the 10th and 12th examinations for 15 days so that people can register their suggestions or objections to it. The state government will review all the feedback before making the final amendments.

When will the examinations be held?

In the information released by the state government, it has been told that the Madhya Pradesh Board will conduct examinations twice a year for high school and higher secondary students. The first and main exams will be held in February-March, while the second chance will be available in July-August.

Who will benefit

The benefit of Madhya Pradesh Board exams being held twice a year will be available to those students who have scored fewer marks in the first exam or those students who have failed the board exam due to some reason will also be able to take advantage of it. Students who fail will be able to improve their results by appearing in the second exam. During this, students appearing in the second exam will be given provisional admission in the next class till the result comes.

Absent students will also get a second chance.

Students who were absent in the first exam for some reason or failed in one or more subjects will also be able to appear in the second exam. CBSE Board had also recently announced that examinations will be conducted twice a year from the year 2026. This decision of the board has been taken to reduce the exam stress of the students. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that conducting the exam twice like the JEE exam will benefit the students mentally. If they get low marks the first time, they will be able to improve their performance the second time.
