North India to Get Relief from Rising Temperatures
After days of intense heat, North India, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab, is set to experience a drop in temperature over the next two days. The maximum temperature is expected to fall by 2 to 5 degrees Celsius, bringing much-needed relief to the region.
In the last 24 hours, several states in North India, including Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab, witnessed rain and thunderstorms. Additionally, hailstorms were reported in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, further cooling the temperature.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), March 28 and 29 will bring strong winds of up to 40 km/h in Northwest India. Thunderstorms, rain, and lightning warnings have been issued for:
Arunachal Pradesh
Sub-Himalayan West Bengal
Sikkim
In South India, rain and thunderstorms are expected in the following regions:
March 29 - April 1: Central Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa
April 1: Marathwada
March 28, 31 & April 1: Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka
Northwest India (Including Delhi): Temperature will drop by up to 5°C in the next two days.
East India: Temperature will rise by 2-3°C. A heatwave alert has been issued for Odisha till March 30.
Central India: The maximum temperature will fall by 2-3°C.
Maharashtra: No major temperature change, but a drop of 2-3°C is expected after three days.
Gujarat: Temperature will increase by 2-3°C in the next five days.
The upcoming rain and thunderstorms will bring temporary relief from the scorching heat in many parts of the country. However, states like Odisha and Gujarat should prepare for rising temperatures.
