Actor Sunny Deol has always been reluctant when it comes to dancing. During the filming of the 1989 movie Chaalbaz he reportedly vanished from the set for two hours to avoid shooting a dance sequence with the late Sridevi for the song Na Jaane Kahan Se. Director Pankanj Parashar once shared this amusing incident in an interview. When Sunny Deol ran away in between the shoot of Chaalbaz While filming for the song Na Jaane Kahan Se the crew had only three days to shoot because there was a strike brewing Pankaj recalled during an interview with YouTuber Siddharth Kannan. He prepared a detailed storyboard for the song which impressed Sridevi but made choreographer Saroj Khan nervous. Saroj ji called me up and said ‘Madam is happy but now I have to come up with unique steps.’ I said ‘We’ll make Sunny dance Pankaj shared. He continued So we started shooting. We were all coming up with ideas on the spot. Then it was Sunny’s turn to dance. He looked at the step and said ‘I’ll just come from the bathroom.’ And then he didn’t come back. He was nowhere to be found for two hours. When Sunny Deol went missing the rest of the crew including Sridevi and Saroj Khan waited for him. Meanwhile Sridevi than screamed and asked Kidhar hai hero? Then he finally came back and did it. To this day I don’t know where he went. But he eventually performed and the whole unit clapped Pankaj shared. The filmmaker also revealed that Sridevi filmed a potion of the song while suffering a 101-degree fever. Despite the challenges she was happy with the final outcome. He recalled After the shoot she told me ‘You shot a classic.’ I still remember her words. Sridevi in fact gave a cash reward to the entire cast and crew appreciating their efforts in bringing the song to life. Release in 1989 Chaalbaaz turned out to be a superhit. The film also starred Rajinikanth Shakti Kapoor Anupam Kher Johny Lever Rohini Hattangadi among others. It is till date remembered for being wholesome entertaining with its funny dialogues and impressive star cast performances.
