The Bollywood industry has witnessed several stars who left acting after marriage to settle down and embrace their personal lives. Today we will talk about one such actress who did superhit films worked with many superstars but later quit the industry got married and is now living her life away from the world of showbiz. She is none other than Amrita Rao. Before starting her career as an actor Rao appeared in several commercials during her college days. Her first public appearance was in the music video for Alisha Chinais song Woh Pyar Mera. In 2002 she made her acting debut with Raj Kanwars fantasy thriller Ab Ke Baras alongside debutante Aarya Babbar. She then starred in Ajay Devgns period film The Legend of Bhagat Singh but the film failed to perform well at the box office. Her breakthrough came with the new-age romantic drama Ishq Vishk opposite Shahid Kapoor. Their pairing was widely adored by audiences and the film became a superhit. Later Shahid and Amritra worked in three films together- Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi Shikhar and Vivah marking their four impressive collaborations together. She also did a movie with Shah Rukh Khan named Main Hoon Na which became a huge success at the box office. The couple run a YouTube channel together called The Couple of Things. They also wrote a book with a same name and released it in February 2023. Amrita stepped away from the industry after getting married. Her last film appearance was in Thackeray where the actress was seen playing a significant role following 5 years of absence.
