Makhana Kheer Recipe (without Chinese)

Material:

  • 1 cup makhana
  • 2 cups of milk (low -fat or almond milk for a vegetarian option)
  • 4-5 dates (natural sweetener)
  • 1 teaspoon ghee
  • 5-6 almonds (chopped)
  • 5-6 cashews (chopped)
  • 5-6 pistachios (chopped)
  • ½ teaspoon cardamom powder

Method:

  1. Fry Makhana-Heat 1 teaspoon of ghee in a pan and fry the makhana on low flame till 5-7 minutes it becomes crisp.
  2. Grind thick - Let the makhana cool slightly, then grind them thick.
  3. Prepare the palm paste - Soak the dates in lukewarm water for 15 minutes, then grind them and make a soft paste.
  4. Boil milk - Heat milk in a pan and cook it on low flame for 10 minutes until it becomes slightly thick.
  5. Cook makhana - Add ground makhana in milk and cook for 5 minutes while stirring continuously.
  6. For natural sweetness, add dates paste and mix well.
  7. Increase taste - Add almonds, cashews, pistachios and cardamom powder to it for plenty of taste.
  8. Serve hot - Let it cool slightly and enjoy your healthy, sugar -free makhana kheer.
