The government has not changed the interest rates on various small savings schemes including PPF and NSC for the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26 (April 1 to June 30).

This is the fifth consecutive quarter when there has been no change in interest rates. According to the notification issued in this regard, 8.2 percent interest will continue to be available on deposits under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana.

Same interest rate on post office savings
The rate on three-year fixed deposits will remain at 7.1 percent like the current quarter. The interest rates of the popular Public Provident Fund (PPF) and Post Office Savings Deposit Schemes have also been retained at 7.1 percent and four percent respectively.

The interest rate on Kisan Vikas Patra will be 7.5 percent and the investment will mature in 115 months. The interest rate on National Savings Certificate (NSC) will remain at 7.7 percent for the period April-June 2025.

Like the current quarter, the interest rate for Monthly Income Scheme investors will also remain unchanged at 7.4 percent. The government last changed the interest rates of some schemes in the fourth quarter of 2023-24. The government notifies interest rates on small savings schemes every quarter.
