More than 1 crore central employees are going to benefit from the increase in dearness allowance. It has been a long-standing demand of the central government employees that the dearness allowance they get should be increased by 3 percent. However, it was already estimated that the dearness allowance would be increased by 2 percent.

Union Railway Minister announced
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has confirmed this. He said that the dearness allowance of central employees has been increased by 2 percent. Along with this, he said that it will start affecting their salary from January 1.

How much has the dearness allowance increased?

According to government data, usually, dearness allowance is increased by 3 to 4 percent. Earlier also the government had increased DA by 3 percent. However, this time dearness allowance has been increased by only 3 percent.

A time when no dearness allowance was received
According to the information received about this, during the Kovid-19 epidemic, the government had stopped the dearness allowance of all employees. The government did not give any dearness allowance to the central employees for 18 months from January 2020 to June 2021.

At the same time, the employees have been demanding the arrears of this period for a long time. The government increases the dearness allowance twice every year. This increase is done once for January to June and the second time for July to December.
