A dozen new and timeless films scheduled for release on Eid-ul-Fitr

With Eid-ul-Fitr looming near, movie buffs in Pakistan can expect an interesting slate of new and old movies to make their way onto the big screens. This year, a range of films ranging from Pakistani to Indian, Indonesian, German, and Hollywood productions will be showcased in cinemas all over the country, providing moviegoers with a range of options to enjoy during the festival season.

Among the re-releases, Pakistan’s biggest box office hits will return to screens so that audiences can experience their beloved films all over again. Some of these are Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, its sequel Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, Touch Button, and Teri Meri Kahaniyan. This choice to release them again proves that there is still a demand for good Pakistani films, with viewers looking forward to watching them again on the big screen.

This Eid, viewers will also be able to sample South Indian cinema as well as old Punjabi Indian cinema, such as Carry On Jatta 3. A number of Indonesian films will also be available in Urdu-dubbed formats, expanding the cinematic experience for Pakistani audiences.

New Releases

Apart from the re-releases, various new Pakistani movies will be launching, offering a blend of action, drama, and entertainment.

Qulfi – Directed by Haissam Hussain and staring Babar Ali, Shehroz Sabzwari, Javed Sheikh, Moammar Rana, and Saeeda Imtiaz, this release is poised to be one of the largest Eid releases with a gripping plot and a talented ensemble cast.
Kabir – Directed by Neha Laaj and produced by Maisam Ali, the film boasts an array of skilled stars such as Adnan Shah Tipu, Anam Tanveer, Sakhawat Naz, Maisam Ali, and Jahangir Khan Jani, giving fans a highly action-oriented experience on the big screen.
Ishq Lahore – This Punjabi action movie, featuring veteran stars Javed Sheikh and Saima Noor, and a solid supporting cast, is likely to attract big crowds, especially Punjabi film enthusiasts.
Lambi Judai – Featuring Babar Ali, Hareem Fatima, Tayyab Khan, and Fizza Mirza in the cast, this drama movie is also one of the notable Eid releases.
Martial Artist – A new entrant in the roster, the movie is written and directed by Pakistani-American Shaz Khan. Produced in English but based against the Pakistani culture, the movie adds a fresh taste to the Eid releases.

Classic Films Making a Comeback

one of the most popular Pakistani movies are coming back to cinemas for Eid, providing viewers another chance to see some of the largest box-office success stories of the past.

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani (2015) and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 (2018) – Both parts of this blockbuster comedy series will be re-releasing for viewers in search of light entertainment.
Punjab Nahi Jaungi (2017) – This box office hit will be back on the big screens after eight years, rehashing its sentimental tale and magnificent performances.
Touch Button (2023) – First released two years ago, this Farhan Saeed, Feroze Khan, and Sonya Hussyn-starrer will be on the screens once again for viewers.
Teri Meri Kahaniyan (2023) – After a two-year gap, this film is being reintroduced for those who missed its initial release.

The move to revive old favorites in addition to new releases guarantees that viewers of all tastes will have an assortment of choices to pick from. Coupling the nostalgia of classic favorites with new releases, this Eid is set to be a celebratory day not only for families but also for Pakistan’s thriving film industry.
