Veteran actress Asha Parekh was one of the most prominent stars of her era in the Hindi film industry. With a remarkable career spanning nearly four decades she has starred in over 85 films and garnered massive fan following for her contributions to Indian cinema. Despite a highly successful professional career Asha faced her share of personal challenges. The legendary actress once recalled about her love life and her decision to remain unmarried. She revealed that she had fallen in love with filmmaker Nasir Hussain whom she met during a film shoot. However since he was already married at the time Asha chose to keep her feelings to herself and maintain a good friendship with him. As a result she ultimately decided not to marry ever. While speaking to Verve magazine in 2019 Asha Parekh said Staying alone was probably one of the best decisions I made. I was in love with a married man and didn’t want to be a homewrecker so in retrospect it was the only choice I had according to the way I wanted to live my life. You see time and circumstance are everything. You can’t stop what is meant to happen and you can’t force what isn’t fated to occur. But I hope you know you’re signing up for a life of endurance. The actress said that no can dictate her anything in life. I would’ve never been able to take someone dictating terms to me — I was just not cut out for it. She added. Similarly another incident happened with Asha Parekh when she was thinking to get married and settle down. She said I did come very close to tying the knot once with a professor from the US. I was visiting him and we were in a cafe at 2 a.m. when he turned to me and nonchalantly said ‘I have a girlfriend and you’ve come in the way. She further added that an astrologer had once revealed that she would never get married. After hearing this Asha Parekh made up her mind to never find love.
