Washington Washington: The United States has warned Iran that if it does not agree on the peace agreement and continues to develop nuclear weapons, it will take disastrous military action. In an interview given to a foreign media recently, US President Donald Trump gave a strong message to Iran, saying that if he does not come to the conversation table, he will never be bombed before. Trump also wrote a letter to Iran which called for a direct discussion on his nuclear program. Although Iranian President Masood Pageshkian accepted Trump's letter to a fresh nuclear dialogue, but rejected direct conversation.
Instead, the Iranian president emphasized the possibility of indirect talks. Despite the pressure by Trump, Tehran has maintained his stand against direct negotiations under the current American “maximum pressure” campaign and between threats of military action.
According to NBC News, Trump had said, “If they do not compromise, there will be bombing. It will be bombarded as he would never have seen before.” Trump also threatened to impose “secondary tariffs” on Iran, warning other countries that trade with Iran could be in danger of their relations with the US.
There have been differences between the US and Iran since Trump's withdrawal from the 2015 joint comprehensive action plan (JCPOA) in 2018. Talking during the tenure of former President Barack Obama, JCPOA imposed strict sanctions on Iran's nuclear program in lieu of relief in sanctions. Strict restrictions were re-implemented due to the removal of Trump, which Iran has repeatedly condemned.
Remarkable, tension between the US and Iran has increased, especially Iran -backed Prox Hamas and Hezbollah suffered heavy losses during the Israel's campaign in Gaza and Lebanon. Trump expressed concern about Iran's atomic ambitions, saying, “You cannot let another nuclear weapon come into existence”.
