Washington The “radical left” and “fake news media” have come under fire from US President Donald Trump for allegedly providing biased coverage of texts that were stolen from a Signal group conversation in which US officials planned attacks on Houthi targets in Yemen that are supported by Iran.

“The discussion should be about why the Biden administration did nothing in the last two years, instead of this Signal chat,” Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin said in an interview with NBC News earlier on Sunday in reference to the Signal chat scandal. The assault was really effective, the discussion was meaningful, and no secret information was disclosed.

“A GREAT job by Senator Markwayne Mullin on beating back Kristen Welker’s and the Radical Left’s Witch Hunt, on the never ending Signal story,” Donald Trump said in a post on Sunday on Truth Social, his own social media site, in reaction to this remark. They just never stop—they keep going!”

“Instead, Meet the Fake Press ought to explain how effective the attack was and how Sleepy Joe Biden ought to have carried it out YEARS AGO,” he said. We are experiencing the most successful “First One Hundred Presidential Days” in American history, and they can’t think of anything else to speak about, so they rehash this old and dull myth and narrative.”

“The Fake News Media has the lowest Approval Ratings in history, and for good reason,” Trump said in the tweet, further criticizing NBC News. “Raise America to greatness once more!”

On Saturday, President Trump told NBC News that he would not terminate anybody who was a part of a group discussion that unintentionally revealed to a journalist preparations for attacks on Yemen.

Trump denied rumors that members of his inner circle had urged him to remove National Security Advisor (NSA) Michael Waltz in a lengthy interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker.

As the backlash from the incident grew, the New York Times revealed on Saturday that Trump had spent a significant portion of the previous week discussing with advisors whether or not to remove Waltz.

However, Trump proceeded to minimize the gravity of the situation while telling Welker that he still had faith in Waltz and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

“I don’t fire people because of fake news and because of witch hunts,” the president of the United States said.

When NSA Waltz unintentionally invited The Atlantic magazine’s editor-in-chief to a Signal group discussion about specifics of US attacks against Houthi targets in Yemen, controversy sprang out.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard, Defense Secretary Hegseth, and Vice-President J.D. Vance were among the prominent members of the Trump administration that participated in the group chat.

It includes discussions on the US “being the only country capable” of carrying out such attacks, the timing of the strikes on Yemen, and the kind of aircraft being used.

The Trump administration has insisted that none of the material supplied was secret, despite the fact that the Atlantic released the actual transcript of US assault preparations.
