Rahul Dravid's commitment was hailed by the cricketing world as Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced off against each other on Sunday (March 30) at the Barsapara International Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The Royals registered their first win of the season after a nail-biting six-run victory.
However, it was RR head coach Rahul Dravid who won the hearts of fans just minutes before the match started. The ex-Indian head coach was spotted inspecting the pitch in a wheelchair. As the visuals went viral on social media, cricket fans hailed Dravid's commitment to the team's cause.
For those unversed, Dravid suffered a leg injury while playing a cricket match earlier this month. "Recovering well. I got some great support. Just, unfortunately, at my age, playing cricket matches wasn't a great idea, I think. But it's ok. It happens, or it's fine," said Dravid in a pre-match press conference.

MS Dhoni's Heartfelt Gesture Towards Rahul Dravid

After the match ended, Dravid walked out towards the ground on crutches to meet the players. Dhoni was quick to rush to meet the ex-Indian captain and enquire about his health. It is worth noting that Dhoni established himself as one of the world's best cricketers under Dravid's captaincy before replacing him in the top job in 2007. Dravid played the final few years of his career across formats under Dhoni's leadership.

What Happened In CSK VS RR?

After CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and chose to bowl first, RR posted a total of 182 on the board. Nitish Rana was the star of the show as he hit his maiden half-century for the Royals. The left-hander made 81 runs in just 36 balls after being promoted to number three. Khaleel Ahmed, Noor Ahmed, and Matheesha Pathirana took two wickets each.
CSK fell short by six runs despite a valiant knock of 63 in 44 balls by skipper Ruturaj. Wanindu Hasaranga took a four-wicket haul. Dhoni threatened to pull off a vintage last-over finish but was dismissed after making 16 runs in just 11 balls.
