Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that Vikram University in Ujjain will soon be renamed Samrat Vikramaditya University. This decision was shared during the 29th convocation ceremony of the university, which took place on the occasion of the Indian New Year.
New University Name: Vikram University will now be known as Samrat Vikramaditya University.
Infrastructure Development: A grand auditorium will be built at Madhav Science Mahavidyalaya.
Honorary Degrees: CM Mohan Yadav and Kamlesh Patel, founder of Heartfulness Institute, were awarded D.Litt degrees.
Book Launch: Three books published by the university were released.
Gold Medal Distribution: 99 students from undergraduate and postgraduate programs received gold medals.
Research Degrees: 70 researchers were awarded research degrees, and 2 scholars received D.Litt degrees.
CM Mohan Yadav urged students to use their talent for social service and contribute to the nation's progress. He emphasized that researchers should bring international recognition to Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, and India.
This renaming decision is seen as a tribute to Emperor Vikramaditya, a legendary ruler known for his wisdom, justice, and patronage of scholars.
