Suryakumar Yadav became only the fifth Indian batter to compete 8,000 runs in T20 cricket during the Indian Premier League 2025 match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders in Mumbai.
Suryakumar reached the milestone in his 312th innings in the format. He averages 34 in T20s with a strike rate of 152.
He joins Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina in the club. Kohli is India’s leading scorer in the format with 12,976 runs, followed by Rohi, who has accumulated 11,838 runs.
In T20 Internationals, Suryakumar has scored 2,598 runs at an average of 38. He also has four centuries in the T20Is, which is the second-highest by an Indian.
