One keen traveller has time-stamped her entire day in a bustling Spanish city, from the moment she arrives at the airport to when she gets home.
A user has proved that you can visit Spain in less than 24 hours and be back at home in your own bed by midnight. From London to Alicante, user @readystephtravel shared a video of her- detailing exactly what she did and how long it all took. It comes as reports suggest more and more people are jetting off to European countries for a brief trip, instead of splashing out on a week or fortnight holiday abroad.
Visiting Alicante on Spain's southeastern Costa Blanca, Steph captured her highlights in a video which is two minutes long. From getting ready in the morning at 2.19am and heading to the airport, to arriving in Alicante, she proves that a day-trip is doable, but that you need to be punctual to make it work.

She explored the local sights, including the top of a historic castle, wandering the lively streets, and eating the classic Spanish treats such as ice cream, tapas, and cookies. She even went to the beach and spent enough time lounging to get sun burnt. The clever video accumulated over 613k viewers and 16k likes, with hundreds of comments from users who struggled to believe how Steph managed to squeeze so many activities into one day.

She also revealed that the entire trip cost her less than £100, which is what an average day out in London with friends ends up costing. One wrote: “This is my idea of a very nice day out,” a second one added: “I’d be exhausted & be fuming that I’d be coming home. Also would never make the working day the following day.” “This is called living life,” a third one commented, with a fourth one joking: “But where did you have your afternoon nap?, referring to the famous Spanish tradition of the afternoon siesta.
Her video is a reminder that sometimes, the best trips don’t require a long and planned itinerary with expensive hotels. With a little creativity and spontaneity, you can go abroad and be back home before you know it. Plus, you won’t be having to request any time off from work.
