have reportedly decided on two key conditions which will drive their summer striker search. has struggled through his first few months at Old Trafford, where centre-forwards and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to replicate the form they previously showed in .

Neither the players themselves nor the club chiefs who bought them for a combined £108million would have envisaged Hojlund and Zirkzee sitting on three goals apiece at this stage of the campaign, while tops the scoring charts on 27. Many expect United to go after a new focal point during the upcoming transfer window if they are serious about their aim of winning another title by 2028.

According to , two things United have prioritised as they scour the market are age and price. The Red Devils want a striker with bags of potential and with his best years ahead of him, all while keeping the balance sheet in check.

The report cites Liam Delap as a player who 'holds an appeal because of his age'. The 22-year-old has hit double figures for Ipswich Town this season and would be virtually certain to leave if they are relegated to the Championship.

That may help United negotiate a modest price, which would set Delap apart from other high-profile striker targets. Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen are both 26 years old, while they would both cost more than £60m and demand massive wages.

Gyokeres was a goal machine under Amorim and he is still in scintillating form at Sporting, where he has scored seven goals in his last four games. But the report also adds that United's 'tight budget' will play a role in their summer transfer business.

With those two conditions set, the Red Devils may have to pull off some jiggery-pokery to secure a big-name No. 9. One of the options believed to be under consideration is proposing a between Alejandro Garnacho and Victor Osimhen.

Garnacho was the subject of serious interest from Napoli in January, with manager Antonio Conte pinpointing him as the ideal target to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. And the Azzurri are expected to part ways with Osimhen once he has completed his season-long loan at Galatasaray.

Exchanging the two players would allow United to get their hands on Osimhen for less than his , although they would still be forced to meet his hefty wage demands in the hope that he is the answer to their issues up top.
