Often two members of the same family step into the industry yet their career paths take completely different turns. Today we bring you the story of two sisters who ventured into Bollywood with dreams of becoming successful actresses. However one found success other failed to achieve one hence left acting to pursue a different path. The sisters we are talking about are Dimple Kapadia and Simple Kapadia. Both of them made their Bollywood debuts with superstars- Rajesh Khanna and Rishi Kapoor. But only Dimple could achieve a name in the industry. Dimple Kapadia made her Bollywood debut with Raj Kapoors blockbuster film Bobby which made her and Rishi Kapoor overnight sensations. While her sister Simple Kapadia made her debut at the age of 18 with Anurodh. She starred opposite her brother-in-law Rajesh Khanna. Later she worked in few films but most of them failed to make an impact commercially as well as critically. Later she left the industry and tried her luck in fashion designing which turned out to be a wise decision. After leaving the world of entertainment she chose to be a costume designer. Simple collaborated with several A-listers including Sunny Deol Tabu Amrita Singh Sridevi and Priyanka Chopra. She also earned the National Award for her costume design in Rudaali in 1994. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2006 but Simple did not stop working even after that. She passed away at the age of 51 in 2009. While talking about Dimple Kapadia the actress got married to superstar Rajesh Khanna at the beginning of her career but got separated after nine years of marriage. She quit the film industry after her marriage but made a comeback following her separation. Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia has two daughters- Twinkle Khanna and Rinkie Khanna.
