Kunal room on Instagram amid controversy after his comments against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde "How to kill an Artist ‘democratically’" (How to kill an artist in a 'democratic' manner). In this post, he took the alleged steps taken against the artists "Playbook" As placed in front, which people in power use to suppress their freedom of expression.
This statement of the room came after a paradise made on his show, in which he made fun of Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde. On this, Shiv Sena workers created a furore at the Habitat Comedy Club in Mumbai. After this, the room is facing several police matters and the Mumbai Police also raided his house in connection with the investigation against him.
Kunal room wrote in its post, “How to kill an artist: A step by step guide.” He divided this process into five stages.
1. Increase publicity level – First of all, create so much opposition that brands should lack their work.
2. Increase the protest further –Increase protests until private and corporate shows also stop.
3. Do the protest more loudly – So that even big platforms avoid taking risks.
4. Violent protest –Till then even small sites can be rejected by their programs.
5. Take the audience under the question of questions-Give art the form of crime, so that the artist has only two options. Either they sell their soul and dance for money, or die quietly. The room further wrote, "It is not just a playbook, it is a political weapon. This is a silence machine."
The room pointed to another issue with its comments. He said that it is an attempt to suppress the political attack and freedom of expression, not just an art form, but the voice of the whole society. He said in his statement, "This is not just for me, it is for all those who criticize power and who try to raise the voice of others."
Amid cases on Kunal room, Madras High Court granted him interim anticipatory bail last Friday. The court clarified that Sateer is considered safe under independent expression and the room did not mention any particular name in its show. His performance video was released on March 23 and was shot in January. The lawyer of the room argued in the court that his show comes under independent expression and it protects their rights.
This post and statement of Kunal room raises a big question. Are the government and administration making every effort to suppress the voice of artists? Is this way of controlling the voice of freedom not against democratic values?
