How Muslims Celebrated Eid Across India

Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated across India with immense enthusiasm, as lakhs of worshippers gathered at eidgahs and mosques to offer prayers and exchange greetings. The festival, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramzan, was observed peacefully under tight security, barring a few conflicts in some parts of the country.
In Delhi, thousands of devotees, including children and the elderly, prayed at the historic Jama Masjid, where security was heightened with four police teams and paramilitary forces stationed at the premises. Following the prayers, people went to eateries and restaurants, enjoying festive delicacies like 'sewai' and 'kheer' while visiting friends and relatives. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes on X, stating, "May this festival enhance the spirit of hope, harmony, and kindness in our society. May there be joy and success in all your endeavours. Eid Mubarak!"
In Uttar Pradesh, Eid prayers were peacefully conducted at over 31,500 mosques and designated locations under heightened security. Artificial Intelligence-powered drones were deployed for real-time surveillance. In Sambhal, people heading to the Shahi Eidgah were also welcomed with flower showers, reinforcing the spirit of unity.
However, the day also witnessed minor incidents. In Aligarh, some individuals wore black armbands in protest against the proposed Waqf Bill and global issues affecting Muslims. Meerut saw a minor dispute escalate into a violent clash, injuring several people. Meanwhile, in Saharanpur, a group of youths was seen waving Palestinian flags and raising slogans after prayers, prompting authorities to investigate.
In Kashmir, the largest gathering of devotees was witnessed at the Hazratbal Shrine on the banks of Dal Lake, where thousands assembled to mark the occasion.
