Menstrual Cycle in Navratri: Menstruation is a simple physical process. It can happen to any woman at any time. Although its day is almost fixed, sometimes it can be a little earlier or later due to physical arrangements. If a woman gets menstruation or period in the middle of Navratri, then she gets confused as to how her fast or Kanya Pujan will be done.
People who fast in Navratri should follow cleanliness very strictly. But sometimes women start menstruating in the middle of Navratri. For such women, some rules have been given in astrology for Kanya Pujan and Havan etc. Let us know about these rules.
If a woman gets her period, then from the first to the fourth day, she can get Havan or Kanya Pujan done by her husband or any Brahmin. It is told in the scriptures that if a woman is impure or in the state of menstruation, then she should do the Puja mentally, in such a situation you get the full benefit of the fast. There is no restriction on doing Puja or fasting mentally.
If women menstruate during Navratri, they should not do Puja for four days. Women can participate in Puja from the fifth day onwards.
Women who are menstruating should not offer Bhog to Maa or do her cleaning etc. It is completely forbidden for such women to go to the place of worship. Also, these women should not touch any material related to Puja.
If a woman menstruates for more than four days, then these women should not do Kanya Pujan and Havan. They should get it done by their husband or any other family member.
If in special circumstances no one is present in the house so that you can do Puja, then such women should do Kanya Pujan and Havan, etc. on Purnamasi instead of Ashtami or Navami.
