Ratan Tata’s WIll: Cook, butler, driver, caretaker, neighbour… how much money Ratan Tata left for everyone, know full details

Legendary businessman Ratan Tata passed away in October last year. However his will shows his kindness and generosity even after his death. He left approximately Rs 3.5 crore for his household staff and office employees including everyone from car cleaners to peons. He also forgave loans given to his employees and even his neighbor.
He even forgave a loan taken by his neighbor and allocated Rs 12 lakh for his German Shepherd Tito.
According to his will the executors were instructed to distribute Rs 15 lakh among his household staff based on their years of service. Part-time helpers and car cleaners will also get Rs 1 lakh each. All of his clothing which included brands like Daks Polo Brooks Brothers Brioni and Hermes was to be donated to NGOs for distribution to those in need.
Detailed Distribution of Assets
As per a Times of India report Ratan Tata left:
Rs 1 crore+ for his cook Rajan Shaw including a loan waiver of Rs 51 lakh.
Rs 66 lakh for his butler Subbiah Konar which included a Rs 36 lakh loan waiver.
Rs 10 lakh for his secretary Dilnaz Gilder.
Rs 1.5 lakh for his driver Raju Leon along with an Rs18 lakh loan waiver.
Rs 1 crore loan waiver for his executive assistant Shantanu Naidu which had been given for his MBA at Cornell University.
Rs 5 lakh for Tata Trusts consultant Hoshi D. Malesar.
Rs 2 lakh for his Alibaug bungalow caretaker Devendra Katamollu.
Rs 1.5 lakh for his personal assistant Deepti Divakaran.
Rs 50000 each for peons Gopal Singh and Pandurang Gurav.
Rs 2 lakh loan waiver for his helper Sarfaraz Deshmukh.
Rs 12 Lakh Set Aside for His German Shepherd Tito.
Tata allocated Rs 12 lakh for the care of his pet dog Tito which includes quarterly payments of Rs 30000. Tito’s will be taken care of by his cook Rajan Shaw.
Loan Waiver For Neighbor
Tata even forgave a loan of Rs 23.7 lakh which he had given to his neighbor Jake Malite for an MBA at Warwick Business School UK. Malite currently resides in Switzerland.
Distribution Of Property
One-third of Tata’s residual estate (excluding shares and immovable properties) was given to Mohini Dutta a former employee of Taj Hotels. His Rs 85 lakh property in Seychelles was transferred to RNT Associates a Singapore-registered fund. Its shareholders include R. Venkataraman (former managing trustee of Tata Trusts) and Patrick McGoldrick (former CEO of Tata Technologies).
Executors Of Will
The executors of Tata’s will are his two half-sisters Shireen Jejeebhoy and Deanna Jejeebhoy and also his close friend Mehlli Mistry and Darius Khambata who is also a trustee of Tata Trusts.
Each executor will receive Rs 5 lakh for their time and efforts in fulfilling the will’s provisions. Tata also ensured that his funeral and last rites were covered by his estate. According to the executors the total funeral cost was Rs 2500.
