In only 16.2 overs, PBKS chased down the mark while conceding just 2 wickets, limiting LSG to a score of 171/7. They are now solidly in second place on the points standings after their second straight victory.

“So many good things are happening,” head coach Ricky Ponting told the players after the game, and his words were recorded. With whatever we do, let’s not take anything for granted. Our dispositions have been perfect. We have only just begun to explore it. We will thus improve daily if we continue to work diligently as a family.

Before the team went out to bat to chase the score, head coach Ricky Ponting told Nehal Wadhera that he was not expecting to be in the playing XI. Wadhera also provided a vital unbeaten 43 off 25 balls.

During the post-match news conference, Nehal discussed his thoughts before to batting: “It was amazing how Prabhsimran and Iyer were batting. The ball continued to contact as they followed a same flow. And when I finally entered, I had the distinct idea that I would give it my all if it was within my price range. I’ll simply opt for a single or double if it’s out of my price range. However, I had intended to avoid putting our captain under undue strain. I’m going to attack every bowler and assume full responsibility.”

Player of the Match In addition to sharing his batting method, Prabhsimran Singh, who amassed 69 runs off 34 balls with nine fours and three sixes, said, “I was keeping it simple and had decided that I’ll back my game.” I discovered that I would remain on the crease for a longer period of time after going in and middleing a few balls before hitting a few fours, so I made an effort to score as many runs as I could in less balls.

Another important factor was the bowling assault of the Punjab Kings. The best bowler was Arshdeep Singh, who claimed three wickets for forty-three runs, including vital wickets at the beginning and close of the innings.

Punjab Kings are now ranked second in the IPL points standings after winning two of their last two games.

On Saturday, at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh, they will play their first home game of the season against the Rajasthan Royals.
