Actress Sona ’s dispute over her web series 'Smoke' has finally been resolved. She had accused a manager of withholding a hard disk containing crucial footage of the series and had staged a protest outside the FEFSI (Film Employees Federation of South India) office, demanding its return. Reports confirm that the hard disk has now been handed over to Sona. 'Smoke' is said to be a biopic based on her life.

Sona opens up about the struggle Speaking about the issue, she told Cinema Vikatan, “Even though I struggled for months, I refrained from taking this issue public because we all belong to the same industry, like a family. Moreover, the manager in question has three daughters. I didn’t want to file a complaint and put his family at risk by causing him to lose his job. However, he remained adamant, behaving as if nothing could be done against him. He even had the support of like-minded individuals. Left with no other option, I had to resort to staging a protest.”

Support from the Nadigar Sangam and resolution Sona further revealed that after her protest, members of the Nadigar Sangam (Actors’ Association) reached out to her to understand the issue. Actor Karunas assured her, saying, “We are here to support you.” Realizing that the Nadigar Sangam was getting involved, the concerned manager was called for discussions. FEFSI President RK Selvamani and a few Nadigar Sangam officials listened to Sona’s side of the story, eventually recognizing that she had been wronged. Following this, they instructed the manager to return the hard disk.

Final outcome and gratitude “The manager had no choice but to comply and finally handed over the hard disk. This issue could have been resolved amicably, but arrogance led to unnecessary conflict. Anyway, I am relieved that it is over now. I sincerely thank the FEFSI administration, the Nadigar Sangam, my supporters, and the media for standing by me,” Sona concluded.
