Used car salesman and presenter has shared his frustration after being charged twice for a flight with a popular airline. The and his daughter Chloe were flying to Poland to check up on a which is undergoing major work.

However, in a posted to on the social media platform , Mike highlighted that checking in to the flight was a difficult and expensive experience. He said: "Right, so me and Chloe arrived at the airport nice and early to catch our flight with this airline behind [Ryanair]. We tried to do the online check-in last night so we can make our way to Poland to catch up with the Porsche 964. Unfortunately, the app kept crashing when you got to their seat selection screen because they want to charge you, this airline, to even sit in a seat you've already bought a ticket for.

"Anyway, it kept crashing, so we got here nice and early this morning so that we could talk to the staff to explain why we couldn't use the app to check in. We stood in a queue, because it was happening to other people, and two minutes after our allotted two-hour time you get to check in, the lady at the desk printed off our boarding passes but then fleeced us for £135."

Whilst it varies between companies, most airlines encourage passengers to check in to their flight online, which can usually be done up to 24 hours before the flight departs.

However, if passengers are unable to do this, they should be able to complete their check-in when arriving to the airport. Whilst some airlines give passengers until 30 minutes prior to the flight leaving to check-in, Ryanair requests that guests do so at least 40 minutes before departure.

Passengers who do not check into their flight online face a fee of £55 per person, which increases to £100 if they check in within 40 minutes of the flight leaving.

Later in the video, Mike noted that the additional fee caused the low-cost flight to be surprisingly expensive, but was still looking forward to his Polish trip.

He continued: "I've paid for this flight twice and then had to pay extra for seats, but hopefully it will be worth it when we finally get to Poland.

"You'd think as an international traveller, this stuff would get easier, but it just gets harder."

Ryanair has been approached for a comment.
