Mumbai opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to switch his state team affiliation from Mumbai to Goa starting next season. The MCA confirmed that Jaiswal's request was based on personal reasons.According to Indian Express report, a source from MCA stated “He has sought a NOC from us and has cited that the reason for his move to Goa as personal,”. The report also stated that people close to Jaiswal have also confirmed about his decision to move from Mumbai to Goa. This move comes as a significant step for the 23-year-old cricketer, especially with Goa recently qualifying for the knockout stages. Jaiswal's decision follows a pattern set by players like Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad, who also represented Goa in their careers."Yes, it is surprising. He must have thought of something to make such a move. He has requested us to relieve him and we have accepted his request," an MCA official told PTI on Wednesday.Jaiswal played for Mumbai last season after the Indian board mandated that players participate in domestic competitions when no international fixtures were scheduled. During the season, he featured in a Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir, scoring 4 and 26 runs.Earlier this year, despite being left out of India’s Champions Trophy squad, Jaiswal was included as a non-traveling substitute. He was also drafted into Mumbai’s Ranji squad for their semifinal clash against Vidarbha in February.
