Navratri Special, Sabudana Tikki Recipe: Sago Tikki can be a great and delicious option for people observing fast during Navratri. It is not only delicious to eat, but also good for health.

Material (Navratri Special, Sabudana Tikki Recipe)

  • Sago – 1 cup
  • Potato (boiled) – 2 medium sized
  • Fresh green coriander (chopped) – 1/4 cup
  • Green chili (finely chopped, Optional) – 1-2
  • cumin powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black salt – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Plain salt – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sugar – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ginger (grated) – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Rice flour (for binding) – 2 tablespoons
  • Ghee – To fry

Method (Navratri Special, Sabudana Tikki Recipe)

  • 1. Prepare sago: First of all wash the sago thoroughly and soak it in water for 1 hour. Then remove the extra water and leave it for 15-20 minutes, so that it becomes completely soft.
  • 2. Prepare the mixture: Peel the boiled potatoes and mash it well. Add mashed potatoes, sabudana, green chillies, ginger, coriander leaves, cumin powder, black salt, plain salt and sugar in a large bowl. Mix all these ingredients well.
  • 3. Binding: Now add rice flour or water chestnut flour and mix the mixture well again. This will help protect the tikki from breaking up.
  • 4. Make Tikki: Make small shells with the prepared mixture and press with hands and shape the tikki.
  • 5. Fry Tikki: Heat ghee or oil in a pan. When the oil is well heated, put the tikkis in the pan and fry till the golden brown and crispy from both sides.

Sabudana Tikki is ready. Serve it hot with fresh coriander chutney or tamarind sauce.
