Dhar (Madhya Pradesh): Police on Wednesday arrested four accused for looting 4.5kg silver ornaments and Rs 50,000 cash from a family at gunpoint. The accused had locked the family members during the loot.
As per reports, complainant Baksingh, of Katarkheda village informed police that on March 28, at around 1 pm, some unidentified miscreants held the family members hostage at gunpoint and broke open the lock of the cupboard, and looted about 4.5kg of silver ornaments and Rs 50,000 cash kept.
They fled the scene after locking complainant Baksingh and his family inside the house.The complainant somehow managed to escape through the window and alerted his neighbours.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Section 10(2) of the IPC against 10-15 unknown accused at Dahi police station.
Dhar SP Manoj Kumar Singh inspected the crime scene along with the cyber cell and crime branch team. A team of cyber cell, Dhar and Dahi police arrested four accused on Wednesday based on the evidences collected from the crime scene.
During interrogation, accused Jugan Bhil confessed that he along with his associates Bhadak Singh, Kalia, Bhikiya, Jhiniya, Kalia, Santosh, Sumal, Ramesh, Sohan, Mehar Singh and Sardar had planned to rob a shop in Bordabra village.
After reaching Katarkheda village, Bhikiya and Ramesh first conducted a recce. Equipped with guns and knives, all of them reached the house of Baksingh. They then held the family hostage and looted jewellery and cash.
After coming back to Bordabra village, they sold silver ornaments to Pappu and Rakesh Bhil for Rs 1.45 lakh and divided the share among them. Based on information provided by Jugan, Pappu and Rakesh Bhil were arrested and looted silver ornaments were recovered from his possession. Police also recovered Rs 50,000 in cash recovered from Jugan and Bhadaksingh.
Arrested accused include Jugan Dawar, Bhadaksingh, Pappu alias Krishna and Rakesh Bhil. However, five other accused are still at large. SP Singh has announced a cash reward of Rs 10,000 for each.
